Rare Vintage 1956-57 Philippines Cubi Point MCB-9 Satin Cruise Jacket.

Long sleeve, collared, full zip satin jacket.

Black satin shell with pink lining and gold National zipper.

Gold yellow name ‘Gene’ embroidered on chest and large embroidered emblem for Mobile Construction Battalion Nine. Typical art style of the time.

Lightweight, thin satin jacket with button cuffs.

The cruise of MCB-9 took place between 1956-1957. The jacket has similarities to embroidered Tour Jackets of this era. The garment is likely a souvenir jacket from Cubi Island. There is some more information and a Cruise Book PDF which can be found online under MCB 9 1956-57 (history.navy.mil) including photographs of the Battalion, illustrations and more information about the Cruise.

The jacket is in amazing condition considering its age. Unfortunately there is a mark on the sleeve near the shoulder, and small darn on the front,  and some rust marks on the lining, likely caused by damp and the zipper, as pictured and reflected in price.
